Direct to Beautiful Sunsets

What do you most look forward to on vacation? We ask this question often in the process of booking holidays, and many clients say that watching the sunset set over a new horizon is one the best parts of the trip. It’s true that there’s a sunset every day, everywhere on earth, and one might expect them to become boring, but most agree that some places in the world are better than others to enjoy this natural spectacle.

The following list compiles the top 5 most beautiful sunsets in our direct destinations (Ibiza, Majorca, Tenerife, Costa del Sol and The Algarve). We’ve picked only one for each destination based on the team travel advisors’ opinions, however please let us know if you have a better suggestion!

Ibiza: Cala Benirrás Beach

This iconic beach, located on the northern tip of the island, is ranked as one of the best locations to witness a magic sunset in Ibiza. When the night falls, the mystical rock formation protruding from the sea (dubbed by locals as the ‘Finger of God’) gives way to an otherworldly landscape.

Each Sunday, when the sun goes down behind the breath-taking islet, local drummers gather to perform for the crowd. Bear in mind that the beach is pretty secluded and small, hence it gets packed quickly. We recommend to arrive early to get a nice spot, especially if you’re planning to bring a picnic.

Expect an uplifting summer night on a beautiful beach, all wrapped up with a spiritual vibe.

Majorca: Es Trenc

Located in a picture-perfect paradise on the south coast, this long stretch of white sand and blue waters is hard to beat. Es Trenc is a protected natural park in Majorca that is regarded as one of the island’s most beautiful and pristine beaches. Unmissable on any holiday, but especially beautiful at sunset.

Watching a sunset on Es Trenc beach is a wonderful way to wrap up your day. Picture yourself relaxing on the beach with a tasty picnic (if possible, with local products) and sipping cocktails while the sun sets over the horizon and reflects off the calm sea. Definitely, a fantastic sight to see!

Tenerife: Mount Teide

Seeing a sunset from an altitude of over 2000 or 3000 metres is a one-of-a-kind experience that only Tenerife can offer, as home to the Teide Volcano, the highest peak in Spain. It should go without saying that is an excellent location for sky watchers. Depending on which slope of the mountain you are, you may enjoy astonishing panoramic views of Tenerife, the ocean and the rest of Canary Islands.

Following this awe-inspiring sunset, you can spend the night a top of the volcano stargazing. With no light pollution around, it’s possible to marvel the Milky Way and take in all the splendour of this cosmic sight.

We recommend to book a guided tour to fully enjoy the experience.

Costa del Sol: Marbella

As nightfall approaches, the sun becomes dimmer and the sea changes to a dark velvety blue as the twinkling promenade lights are turned on. There’s something very special about it.

In Marbella, the most recognisable landmark is the seaside promenade. The esplanade, which is closed to traffic, is an excellent place to see breath-taking sunsets. The beautiful Marbella Club Hotel and the world-famous Puente Romano Resort may be seen along the way as you stroll from Marbella to Puerto Banus.  Along the promenade, you’ll find a number of beach clubs where you can get a bite to eat or a drink while taking in the scenery.

The Algarve: Falesia Beach

The Algarve’s coastline is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Europe, therefore its sunsets. Located in Portugal’s southernmost point, the area is a great place to unwind and watch the sun going down over the Atlantic Ocean.

One of our favourite beaches is Praia da Falesia, near Albufeira town resort. As the sun sets, the red rocky shoreline paints the whole beach a fiery shade, creating a breathtakingly beautiful and romantic backdrop.

We can take you direct to beautiful sunsets from the British Isles. We operate direct flights to Ibiza, Majorca, Tenerife, Costa del Sol and The Algarve throughout the year. Stays of 7, 14 nights or longer are available and flights can be booked alone or as part of a full packagE holiday here.
