Getting Around
Train
Majorca has a small but scenic rail network operated by SFM (Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca). The main line runs from Palma to Inca, continuing on to Sa Pobla and Manacor, with regular services throughout the day. The historic Tren de Sóller, a vintage wooden train, also links Palma with the charming town of Sóller, offering a picturesque journey through the mountains. There is no train station at Palma de Mallorca Airport – you’ll need to take a taxi or bus to Palma city centre to connect with train services.
Taxi
Taxis are widely available across Majorca. You’ll find clearly marked taxi ranks in town centres, near beaches, and at major transport hubs. Your accommodation can also arrange one for you if needed. At Palma de Mallorca Airport, taxis operate from the official rank outside the arrivals area, and all vehicles use meters and display official fare information.
Bus
Majorca has an excellent bus network connecting Palma, the airport, and all major towns and resorts across the island. Services are mainly operated by TIB (Transports de les Illes Balears), most resorts have a central bus stop or station, and timetables are easy to access online or locally at stations and tourist information points.
Car Hire
Car hire is widely available across Majorca, with rental offices at Palma Airport and in all major resorts. Drivers must hold a full valid driving licence, and a credit card is usually required as a security deposit
