Tenerife
About Tenerife
Rising dramatically out of the Atlantic Ocean, Tenerife is a land of volcanic beauty, vibrant culture and year-round sunshine. Closer to Morocco than mainland Spain, this largest of the Canary Islands has earned its nickname “the island of eternal spring”. With its mix of hidden bays, lively beaches, peaceful villages and bustling towns, Tenerife offers far more than lazy days by the pool.
In the south of the island, the popular beach resorts are alive with energy, attracting visitors in search of golden sands, warm seas, delicious Spanish food and a touch of nightlife. Head inland, however, and the scenery…
Our Tenerife Tips
Most beaches in southern Tenerife have beautiful black volcanic sand — but head to Playa del Duque for soft golden shores and a touch of luxury.
Tenerife is the ideal choice for winter sun, with mild temperatures averaging around 22°C — perfect for relaxing on the beach or exploring the island year-round.
Take a trip to the island’s north to discover Santa Cruz de Tenerife — the charming capital city, rich in history, colourful architecture, and authentic Canarian life.
For a true taste of Tenerife, order papas arrugadas — the island’s signature wrinkled Canarian potatoes often served with a tangy mojo sauce.
