San Teodoro

Set on Sardinia’s spectacular north-eastern coast, San Teodoro is a lively seaside town surrounded by some of the island’s most beautiful beaches. With its turquoise waters, white sands, Mediterranean scenery and buzzing summer atmosphere, it is a popular choice for those looking for a holiday that combines relaxation with plenty to see and do.

The star of the coastline is La Cinta, a spectacular sweep of fine white sand stretching for around five kilometres between the crystal-clear sea and the San Teodoro lagoon. The shallow waters make it particularly popular with families, while the surrounding dunes and lagoon provide a beautiful setting for walks and birdwatching.

There are plenty more beaches to discover nearby, including the picture-perfect Cala Brandinchi, often nicknamed ‘Little Tahiti’ thanks to its white sand and clear turquoise waters, along with Lu Impostu, Isuledda and Cala Suaraccia. The coastline is also part of the protected Tavolara–Punta Coda Cavallo marine area, making it a fantastic spot for swimming, snorkelling and boat trips.

Away from the beaches, San Teodoro’s town centre comes alive during the summer months, with shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and evening markets filling the streets around Piazza Gallura. There are plenty of places to enjoy traditional Sardinian food, grab a gelato or simply sit and watch the world go by.

For something a little different, explore the San Teodoro Lagoon, where pink flamingos and other birdlife can be spotted, or take a boat trip towards the dramatic island of Tavolara. With beautiful beaches, lively evenings and spectacular natural scenery all around, San Teodoro offers a wonderful mix of Sardinian sunshine and holiday atmosphere.
