Santa Teresa Gallura

Perched on the northern tip of Sardinia, Santa Teresa Gallura is a charming seaside town overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio, with Corsica visible across the water on a clear day. Founded just over 200 years ago, the town combines a lively holiday atmosphere with beautiful beaches, a picturesque harbour and a spectacular coastline of granite rocks and crystal-clear waters.

At the heart of Santa Teresa is Piazza Vittorio Emanuele I, surrounded by cafés, restaurants, shops and gelaterias. The town is easy to explore on foot, with narrow streets leading towards the waterfront and harbour. For a taste of the area’s history, head to Torre di Longonsardo, the impressive 16th-century watchtower standing above the sea, where the views stretch across the Strait of Bonifacio towards Corsica.

Just a short drive from Santa Teresa, Capo Testa is famous for its enormous granite rock formations, hidden coves and dramatic coastal scenery. Follow the paths through the rocks to discover the beautiful Valle della Luna, or find a quiet spot beside the sea and enjoy the views.

Santa Teresa is also a great place to enjoy traditional Sardinian food, with restaurants and bars bringing the town to life as the sun goes down. Its location makes it ideal for exploring further afield too, with boat trips to the La Maddalena Archipelago and ferries to Bonifacio in Corsica offering memorable day trips.
